An Aba is a cloth wrap that holds a bird secure, immobilizes her, and allows a single person to control her while coping or examining her. It has also been a part of some traditional manning practices as it prevents a bird from attempting to flee and keeps her safe while she acclimates. The Aba pictured here wraps around a bird's wings. Others may wrap around the entire body holding the wings against her and holding her legs back.
